If you wanted to know what all the fuss concerning Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds was about, tomorrow night is your chance! “Bright Lights”, the serendipitous documentary starring none other than recently departed Debbie and Carrie, premiers tomorrow night on HBO at 8PM (est)…
The HBO doc follows the offbeat & loving relationship between always famous (& sometimes misunderstood) mother and daughter. It also goes into depth over the heartbreaks and triumphs of their personal lives & careers. It is definitely a must watch!!!
I personally am looking forward to my bed, a bottle of wine, perhaps some sushi and definitely a large box of tissues. A good cry and laugh is in order tomorrow night.
To me, the timing of this film’s release is no coincidence… THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
Here’s the trailer. Enjoy!
Sidenote: Did you know Debbie Reynolds had one of the largest Hollywood memorabilia collections? When MGM decided to sell their props and memorabilia, Debbie stepped in and made sure to preserve the relics of Old Hollywood. She even scored the ruby red slippers from the Wizard of Oz. What most people saw as “junk”, she saw as priceless works of history and art. Smart smart lady!
PS: Seriously Gene Kelly is so dreamy! Here he is being amazing in the most famous scene of Singin’ In The Rain! I’m seriously naming my first born after him.
PPS: Debbie Reynolds is quoted as saying the following about Gene Kelly: “Gene Kelly was a great dancer and I was lucky to be in ‘Singin’ in the Rain.’ He was my teacher when I was 17 years old, when he was 37 years old. He taught me everything…”
