Each one of the below tips  is CRITICAL for your feminine health ~ so that you can thrive and stay alive! It may seem odd at first (because you’ve been told that “it’s perfectly fine”) but the fact is that these tips make complete sense when considered in a simple light.

PS: Share this with the men in your life  because ~ lord knows ~ they need their mothers, sisters, daughters and wives to keep on keeping on… (Plus, everything except #4 could apply to them well!)

It’s Good To Know: 5 Critical Health Tips for Women

(PS: Your Doctor May Not Know!)

5. STOP USING ANTIPERSPIRANT & TOXIC DEODORANT!

You sweat for a reason. When you sweat, you are releasing toxins from your body. It’s healthy to do that and it makes perfect sense. So in that same rational, sweat is toxic and needs to be released from your body. That also makes perfect sense right?  And by utilizing antiperspirants, you’re not allowing yourself to release that toxic sweat.

You’re sweating for a reason after all!  And worse, antiperspirants contain aluminum (a heavy metal that is toxic). So where do all the toxins go? They are stored in your body ~ particularly near your breasts & lymph nodes. Keep in mind, not all deodorants are antiperspirant. Nevertheless, nearly all antiperspirants contain toxic aluminum & most deodorants contain other serious chemicals you need to avoid… ↓But there are non-stinky solutions ↓

↑DEODORANT TIPS & SOLUTIONS

  • The Honest Company deodorant in the “Vetiver” scent (spray this prior to putting a bit of baking soda on your underarms and you’re good to go). I wish they would put this deo in a glass, recycled container! It contains essential oils which are powerful and ~ in my opinion ~ not safe to keep in plastic. So honest company: please do us all a favor & replace the plastic with some sturdy glass containers ~ and we’ll love your products even more.
  • Know these seven harmful ingredients. PS: Triclosan (which is also found in hand sanitizers and soaps) will screw up your hormones BIG time. Avoid it).
  • Know that when you transition to natural deodorant, you will go through a detox period! It will end! You won’t forever smell. Here’s a great article from Katie of the “Wellness Mama” on how to detox your pits.
  • Love yourself more than the thought/fear of stinking up a room. You may require some trial and error (though I think the baking soda tip above is pretty solid), but don’t give up on yourself for the sake of vanity + needing to liked or accepted.
  • It’s happening now! You need to do make this transition for yourself RIGHT NOW. Toxic antiperspirants & deodorants lead to breast cancer. It’s that simple.
  • Dr. Hauschka’s deodorants are really great too. I loved the rose scent for awhile but this new Sage Mint scent sounds great and has good reviews! These are additional deodorant recommendations from the Huffington Post.
  • Baking soda (organic)! I’ll be doing a little video on this shorty. I use organic baking soda as an add-on to certain deodorants (like the Honest Company one above).  It does not contain aluminum and is great at keeping you smelling fresh. I buy a big bag of it from Mountain Rose Herbs, put a bit in a mason jar and place about a nickel size on each underarm. Don’t use too much. It’s powerful stuff. Wipe away any excess that gets onto clothing (it easily wipes off).
  • You can also use lemons! But not after shaving!

BOTTOMLINE: Never use antiperspirants! Anything that doesn’t allow you to sweat is going to be toxic. Stick to deodorants and opt for ingredients you can easily pronounce. And remember: You will go through a detox phase Ride it out. It won’t last forever. Don’t worry about the stink…

PS: Don’t use the crystal rock deodorants. Those actually still contain aluminum ~ and regardless of it’s form or the minimal amount ~ you don’t want it all up in your business. I also think they don’t work well ~ at least not for me.

UPDATE: My friend, Jessica, read this article and said, “But I need something to keep me dry because I sweat A LOT!”….  So for those pits and need to be dry moments, there is PIPERWAI.  Even though they are new to the deodorant scene, these guys are doing great and claim to keep you dry in a more holistic way….

4. STOP USING TOXIC TAMPONS!

OPT FOR ORGANIC PADS OR “THINX” UNDERWEAR.

AND IF USING TAMPONS, THEY MUST BE ORGANIC!

So like sweat above, there’s a reason blood flows “out” of us.
And there’s also a reason tampon boxes come with warnings regarding toxic shock syndrome.  But here’s the worst part about conventional tampons: a hard core herbicide all up in your baby maker business!  The herbicide (glyphosate) and other pesticides are abundant in the production of non-organic cotton. Oh and here’s some other serious concerns: dioxin traces, chlorine dioxide, plastics, AND MORE.

Here’s a great article on toxic tampons from The Guardian. And ↓below↓is a video from Blythe Metz.  I hadn’t heard of her until now, but her videos are great! I love her ‘say it like it is’  advice…

↑RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TAMPONS/PADS + SOMETHING TOTALLY RANDOM & EXCITING!↑

  • The random & exciting thing is called “Thinx Underwear” !  I appreciate this company for a few reasons: impact on the environment (hello!) & how they manufacturer their products/support women. Their reviews and the feedback seem great. Once I get a pair, I’ll do a full review of it.  Nonetheless, they seem like a great option.
  • Organic pads.
  • Organic tampons (only do tampons if absolutely necessary). Again, pads are best (let it all out!).
  • Sidenote: I also like to buy a handful of standard, black underwear from the company PACT. Their underwear is 95% organic cotton, super soft and fits beautifully. There’s something really great (& classy) about always having a nice, solid pair of black underwear in your underwear drawer.

BOTTOMLINE: Never use conventional tampons. I honestly believe ~in my non-professional & non-accredited opinion~ that toxic, conventional tampons will easily become one of those “opps we didn’t know it contributed to cancer” statements. It just doesn’t make sense to put an herbicide inside of you and leave it there all day…

PS: Thinx also makes underwear for bladder leakage/control !

3. SWITCH FROM MAMMOGRAMS TO THERMOGRAPHY!

Do you know Dr. Christian Northrup? For one, she’s an amazing OBGYN. Secondly, she’s been ahead of the standard medical community for quite some time. And thirdly, she’s a true goddess of light + love.  Her advice is spot-on and SHE SIMPLY KNOWS WOMEN’S HEALTH! She’s the expert in fact!

Anyhow, Dr. Northrup  does not recommend mammograms. Instead, she recommends thermography which is a safe + accurate alternative. Here’s an article from her website called “Best Breast Test” wherein she states:

“…It’s ironic that the test women are using for prevention may be causing the very problem they’re trying to avoid in the first place! Another reason the United States Preventative Services Task Force reversed its aggressive mammogram guidelines was because of the exposure to radiation. It’s well known that excessive doses of radiation can increase your risk of cancer. Semelka. And this doesn’t even touch on the harm done to the body from unnecessary biopsies, lumpectomies, mastectomies, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and so forth. Thermography is very safe—it’s even safe for pregnant and nursing women! It’s merely an image of the heat of your body…”

Here’s Our Goddess of Light + Love Talking Briefly Discussing the “Insanity”:

And Here’s Philip Getson (who Dr. Northrup referenced above) Discussing Proper Use of Thermography:

BOTTOMLINE: Thermography is a safer, better alternative to mammograms. Read Dr. Northrup’s full article for more information on their use & determine if it’s right for you.

PS: Ask your doctor/OBGYN if they employ the use of thermography. And never be afraid  to ask your doctor questions! It’s your body & life! If you’re intimidated (in any sense) by your doctor, find another one ~ ideally a functional medicine practitioner.

2. STOP TAKING FOLIC ACID

(YOU ACTUALLY NEED FOLATE)

Most synthetic vitamins are not only useless, they are harmful to your health. If you’re pregnant, your doctor will say again and again how you need “folic acid”, but folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. YOU ACTUALLY NEED FOLATE ~ NOT FOLIC ACID WHICH IS WHAT YOUR BODY CONVERTS FOLATE TO UPON PROPER ABSORPTION.

And if you have the MTHFR gene mutation and take synthetic vitamins containing folic acid, it will actually build up in your system and make you feel awful. Truly! It’s not good stuff.

↑ FOLATE ~ SUPPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS ↑

  • Choose organic,whole-food based multivitamins and pre-natals if you are pregnant.
  • Choose vitamins  listing folate instead of folic acid and beta-carotene instead of retinol.
  • Avoid excessive herb formulas unless you are not hyper-sensitive (most of our immune systems are wrecked these days).
  • Avoid unnecessary fillers and “other” ingredients that simply don’t need to be in there…
  • Avoid formulas with canola or soybean oil.
  • Iron can be toxic to a body that no longer requires it. If you’re beyond  your years of menstruation, look for a whole food multi without iron!
  • My current favorite: MegaFoods “One Daily“.

BOTTOMLINE: You need folate ~ not folic acid from a multi/vitamin. Find a whole food-based multi that is organic/non-gmo.

1. DETOX FROM GLYPHOSATE (ROUNDUP) ~ NOW!

(IT’S GIVING OUR CHILDREN AUTISM)

So a lot of people miss one of the most horrifying aspects of GMOs which is the fact that there’s a toxic herbicide vastly  utilized in the production of GMOs & it’s devastating our health.  The herbicide is built into the genes of some GMOs and is abundantly sprayed onto the  pre-harvest (right before picking) conventional wheat crop.  It’s called glyphosate and it’s been scientifically linked to autism by MIT Senior Scientists, Stephanie Seneff.  Many agree with her findings. The Huffington Post recently published a great article called “The Next Big Short” Here’s some enlightening discussions from Seneff:

↑SOLUTIONS TO GLYPHOSATE↑

  • Avoid top GMO sources including conventional corn, soy, wheat, cotton, cottonseed, alfalfa and canola (rapeseed).
  • Conventional wheat products are very concerning due to the aforementioned “pre-harvest” dumping of glyphosate on the crop.
  • Non-organic, unfermented soy is a massive NO! Why? Traditionally, asian cultures always consumed soy in its fermented form so as to break down the physic acid +soy is a phytoestrogen so adding glyphosate into that mix = disaster!
  •  Avoid non-organic meats & dairy. If your meat is grass-fed but not organic, confirm with the manufacturer that it’s not from GMO grass (alfalfa).
  • Look for GMOs in places other than food. For example, your cosmetics (hello deodorant), condiments (hello mayo) & synthetic vitamins/supplements (hello Centrum).

BOTTOMLINE: You don’t want to be a part of the human experiment that is GMOs. It’s that simple. Monsanto and the other chemical companies make plenty of unsubstantiated arguments that get tossed around the debate floor. But at the end of the day, there’s no getting around the fact that GMOs do not have any long term human trials.  And on that same note: Autism rates are soaring in the U.S. and other nations that allow GMOs (China for example).

AND A BIG PS:

PEE BEFORE & AFTER SEX TO PREVENT UTIs

(AND PEE AFTER BATHING, SWIMMING, SHOWERING, etc)

This tip might not be so critical as it is relieving! And it’s SO HUGE for those prone to UTIs.

I have not had a bladder infection since practicing this health tip. But you must be consistent with it. Pee as soon as you get out of the shower or bath, as soon as you’re done being a sexual goddess, as soon as you’re done doing anything (and I mean anything) that involves your bottom area. And after peeing, always wipe  from front to back ~ never back to front or just gently tap.

I HOPE THIS ARTICLE SERVED YOU AND THAT YOU STAY ALIVE FOR A VERY, VERY LONG TIME:
