secretly want to be an astronaut! The loudspeaker countdown. The floating like a bad a** unicorn in an oversized, oxygenated helmet all in the name of mankind’s expansion. The moons, stars and black holes. It’s just so up my David Bowie alley…
And imagine seeing that view of the world as one, pulsing entity. There’s just something so magical about space & what its exploration means for us all. These posters were originally commissioned by NASA for display as an exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex in 2009 & now they are available to everyone online. Check out the full collection here and download them for free.
And here’s the career page for NASA. I think it’s so important not to associate space exploration with only engineers… In fact, it’s one of the reasons I never thought I could be an astronaut (not great at math). But you know what? NASA probably needs some really innovative people full of wonder. So go for it. You can only ever go as far as you are willing to dare to imagine…
PS: The one. The only. David Bowie. “I’m stepping through the door. And I’m floating in the most peculiar way and the stars look very different today!”.
PPS: The most popular & caring CEO on the earth, Richard Branson, is still planning on bringing people to space via Virgin Galatic. And they are hiring! Branson also plans to launch a cruise ship line from Miami in 2020.
And one more thing: Could these lyrics not save the world from all condemnation and
evil absence of light? The song was a result a jam session between David Bowie & Queen.
